CBD הוא שם קיצור עבור Cannabidiol a והוא מרכיב הנקרא קנאבינואיד אשר נמצא בצמחים מהסוג קנאביס.
קנבינואידים הם קבוצה של חומרים המסוגלים להשפיע על המערכת האנדוקנבינואידית שנמצאת כמעט בכל בעלי החיים מלבד מערכות החרקים והחד תאים.
